By December 1877 Fr Jaeckel had arranged to move his school from 87 Duke Street, in the first instance to a site on the corner of East and Charles Streets. This however did not work out, for some reason.

1878
In March 1878 another opportunity opened up. The owners or occupants of Mary Villa, Volny Mary and his son, sold up their possessions. Volny Mary had had a business on Harbour Street, which he closed down, and apparently left the island. It is not clear whether Mr Mary had owned Mary Villa, though it seems likely he did since it was named for him. Either way Mary Villa became available for purchase or lease and Fr Jaeckel acquired the property and his new school soon became 'Mary Villa College'.

In 1879 Father Jaeckel's new High School continued to prosper,

. . . but later in the year suffered what must have been a significant blow: W H H Sutherland, a teacher who had apparently moved with Fr Jaeckel from St George's College, left Mary Villa in November to set up his own school, the Kingston Commercial School, which he did in the following month.
I have been unable to find any more information on Sutherland beyond that in the Gleaner item.

The latest information I have found on Sutherland and his school is in the Gleaner advertisement below. After that I have so far found nothing further.
