Jaeckel's second play was The Citizen Nobleman, an adaptation of Moliere's
Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme, which was performed by students to an admiring
audience at the Theatre Royal on June 22, 1881. Between the acts of the
comedy, ladies and gentlemen contributed instrumental music to enhance the
evening's offering.
